Designed by Filipe Alarcão, Portugal's renowned product designer, the Gem Collection is made with DuPont's monteli, a new material very similar to corian. The monteli, however, absorbs the bonding of specific glue differently, making it impossible to view the connecting pieces. The end result is a piece that looks like it's been carved from a single stone. This collection is offered in a limited numbered edition. Each unit includes a signed certificate engraved in the bottom of each GEM, and a multimedia CDROM featuring TemaHome's virtual catalog.
