The stands are perfect height, solid wood heavy enough to hold my M&K speakers. One thing I hope the wood plates that hold the speaker a slightly larger. It is hard to find this speaker stands at local retail store. I am glad I bought the solid wood version. NICE.

I was surprised that the top platform is so small (4.5"x4.5"). In the package there is an order form for a larger one (8.5"x8.5") for $14.95. I didn't see that in the product description. For me the small one works with my small speakers, but at 42" high any larger speaker (& platform) would make the whole thing top heavy. Even with my small speakers it is best to keep it out of the way as not to knock it over.
