I bought this because it was one of a very few TV furniture stands large enough to hold our 60" Sony SRX HDTV. While I love the lines and the distressed finish, this is NOT the quality I've come to expect from Hooker. Unlike all my other HEAVY Hooker furniture, this piece is really flimsily constructed. The top, front, and sides are all made of 1" solid hardwood, but the back is 1/4" plywood that ruins the integrity of construction. Because all the video, WII, etc. components had to be hooked up, the delivery men placed it about 8" from the wall. When I attempted to move the piece back (just a few inches), the screws in the top pulled out of the base, the top came out of alignment with the base, and the back cracked. I've contacted my carpenter to see if it can be made more sturdy or if I should return it. Also, I would definitely caution anyone with children from buying this because the drawers have no stops to prevent them from pulling out completely - not very safe if you have little ones. The piece comes with 2 glass panes that can be put in place of two of the wood insets in the cabinet doors.[...]
