Great look and overall design. Not much competition out there for plasma centers, but this piece would stand up well for classy design and quality craftmanship. The only problem the designers need to address is the fact that the shelves slide out and are not held in place well. When wiring the back of components, it was difficult not having the shelf crash down or slide out!

This is a very attractive, solid, immaculately made piece of furniture that should last a lifetime. The finish is a very rich espresso, not black. The surface finish is flawless, feels like silk when you run your hand across the top, or sides for that matter. I have mine set up with a 40 inch Sony flat panel, flanked by Definitive Technology pro cinema 1000 speakers, and a pro cinema 2000 center channel in the center compartment which fits like a glove, perfect (amazing speakers too.) Inside, the walls left and right of the center compartment are pre-drilled with approximately 2-3 inch holes to accommodate wire travel within, more than enough room to get all your wires managed. There are larger beveled rectangular openings in both the left and right upper rear of the unit, to accommodated the rear panel of receivers. It is doable, but perfect would have been larger openings, and at the bottom rather than upper portion, as many receivers are heavy and are better suited on the base of the unit, with no fear of shelf weight limits (Maybe a reversible /sliding rear panel would work better.) Of course, you are free to drill, but I would hate to compromise the aesthetic in any way. The unit is very heavy, and comes nailed to a wooden board at the base for support. You will need help from a friend just to take it out of the box, or just pay for the gold service. You should have the 2 inch long rectangular magic sliders, 8 of them, ready upon delivery. They work like magic, without em, you aint moving this thing, not without several bodybuilders. The shelves will slide forward and fall as mentioned in other reviews, which could be a nightmare for your components. I suggest drilling a small hole in the inner support beams at the front of each shelf (as opposed to the outer walls, so if you drill too deep, you don't go through to the outside,), the same size as the ones for the pegs that support the shelves, this way you could get extra pegs from a hardware store, and push them in at the front of each shelf so they can't slide forward. Good product, heavy construction, could use more detail to construction for the price tag. IE. quality control, Found some things that needed some tightening.The rear holes for the shelves need to be drilled at least 1 inch fwd. of where they are.Your component will fall along with the shelve if moved even a tiny bit foward while hooking up wires and such. Trust me, it will happen. The backing on the unit removes for easy access but only 1 of the 3,they could have made all removable to access wires.Still a very nice unit and modern looking.

It's classy, nice looking, made well, sturdy, and made to hold all our wonderful things.\nOne problem, minor, the shelves fall down if moved 3/4" forward, like when loading, or dusting, or trying to hook up cables. They crash and burn! Need to fix it so it won't happen.

Great looking, well built piece of furniture. Beware the wenge color swatch -- wenge is as close to black as you can get without it being black. It looks good, but if you expect any brownish tint to it, forget it. A few minor complaints: The shelves do not have a notch cut into them to keep them from sliding. This created some difficulty when hooking up components. The shelves slide easily and fall off the pegs if slid as little as an inch, making for a touchy installation process. I would like to add a short addendum that I contacted Furnitech concerning the missing caps and they promptly sent me some more. Even after receiving the caps I received another phone call from their CEO addressing some of my concerns with the furniture. This was all after the sale was complete and was done on their own initiative. It is because of this more than sufficient attention to customer satisfaction, far outweighing any minor shortcomings of the furniture, I would raise my rating to Five Stars.

We are very happy with this TV stand. We have a baby at home and this unit allows us to hide all of the stereo/speaker equipment my husband needs to watch tv. There is enough storage space for dvds, cds, and extra remotes. It is tall enough to put our plasma tv at a nice viewing height. We love it.
