I mounted a brand new sharp 46". The only problem is that there are no instructions to correctly mount the type of tv i have. But the mout and brackets in diffent sizes are universal. It will take some creativity to correnctly mount the tv if the methods in the instructions don't work. I love that the shelves are not wide and allow me to put this against the wall without it sticking it out. The shelves also are roomy enough to put all my home theatre equipment and Entertainment System with no problem with wires in the way with its cable management system. It does have a beautiful smooth black steel construction.

Solid construction, no hassle assembly, less than a hour. Well worth the price. MUCH nicer than pictured. Wish it had one more shelf... That would of been perfect! WORKS just fine with a 52" LCD. The ad says 50" but I believe that was written before 52" lcd's came on the market.

Holds my 52" Samsung LCD tv securely, along with all my home theater components, but assembly was a long and challenging process, especially figuring out which bolts and washer to use to connect stand to TV, as well as centering and leveling the universal mount. I love it now that it's assembled, though!

We bought this stand for our 52" Samsung LCD TV and home theater setup. The stand looks great, and holds our TV securely. The shelves are a little narrow, but hold our AV equipment. Assembly was very challenging. I'm including a long review below of the things I wish I'd known before buying this product; hopefully they will help you make a decision.

ASSEMBLY:

Assembly took us over 4 hours. In fairness, part of that time was modifying our TV to prepare for mounting. Note to Samsung LCD TV owners - you may need a magnetic screwdriver to remove your TV's base for stand mounting!. Product was very well packaged; everything was in pristine condition with no scratches, and parts were easy to locate. Assembly of the overall stand was easy, but the universal mount was challenging and poorly explained in the instructions.

In particular, we had difficulties figuring out what combination of bolts and washers to use to attach the mount to our TV so that the connection was sturdy, but did not stick far so far into the TV that it damaged the TV. Our TV came with bolts that fit the mounting holes, but because the mounting holes are recessed in the TV, our TV's bolts did not work with the universal mount (too short). So we measured the depth of the holes in the TV, including the recessed portion, and found a maximum length of "exposed" bolt that would work. The included hardware pack had bolts that were the right threading size and were long enough, but the washer selection was limited, and we had to use threaded nuts from other unused parts to get the lengths to work out. I wish more washer sizes were included.

The other big challenge with the universal mount was getting the crossbars aligned with each other properly in a square/rectangle configuration, so that the bolts lined up with the mounting holes in the TV, and all pieces were level and centered, and the whole assembly would fit on the stand. We aligned them on the back of our TV, but then had to remove them from our TV to fully tighten, and the pieces would slip out of alignment. We had to repeat this process over and over until we got it right. Note: a carpenters square and tape measure or ruler are VERY useful for this step! Also, make sure the universal mount will attach to the TV stand (spacing correct) BEFORE you mount it onto your TV.


End Result - The Good:
1) Assembly-wise, once we got the universal mount aligned on the TV and put the TV on the stand, the rest was easy.
2) The stand seems sturdy. The base has many little adjustable feet, and it has a wide "footprint" for stability. We've noticed no wobble in the TV from people walking around the room. There is wobble if you shake the stand deliberately, but not enough to make us nervous.
3) The shelves can be moved fairly easily if nothing is on them, but when loaded, they stay put. Rubber pads help you level the shelves. The manual suggests you remove the glass shelves and TV before moving the stand. We have our stand on "furniture mover" pads, and so I think we can move it if we are careful, without removing stuff, but we have not tried this yet.
4)The shelves allow 50 lbs of weight per shelf, which seems to be plenty for us. We fit an AV receiver and DVD carousel changer on the bottom shelf, and a center speaker and DVR box on the top shelf, and still have some room, although the DVD carousel sticks out slightly due to the narrow shelf depth.
5) The shelves are a black, smoky glass and are almost mirrorlike. Very beautiful.
6) The stand doesn't take up as much room as you might think because the shelves are not very deep.
Also, it gives a "free-floating" illusion to the TV and shelves, rather than looking like a massive construction of steel.

END RESULT - The Not-so-good:
1) For our TV, we had to space the universal mount such that there was only one height position that it would fit with on the stand; thus, we could not adjust the height much at all (the position we got was ok, though).
2) Although the glass shelves are 16" deep, the curved portion of the center support means that you don't get 16" of use near the center of the shelves. I'd say you lose at least an inch.
3) The "cable management system" is of limited usefulness; it consists of two long metal channels that run up the main support on the back. You can remove the channels, run cables up through them (there are 4 total places on each channel for cables to enter or exit), and reattach the channels, but if you are running multiple cables through a channel, it's hard to get them all lined up simultaneously while putting the channel back in place. Also, the channels are mainly good for to and from the TV; I only have two connections going to the TV, and the channels aren't really useful for shelf-to-shelf connections.
4) The shelves are very shiny and reflective, and so they may show fingerprints, pet hair, scratches, etc.

Very good quality and took me only about 15 minutes to fully assemble, my 42" tv is very secure.
